Two Dead in Collision Between Acadian Ambulance & Coca-Cola Truck

A head-on collision between an Acadian Ambulance and a Coca-Cola delivery truck on Morganza Highway in Pointe Coupee Parish left two people dead in the late morning hours of Tuesday, June 27th.

Despite being properly restrained, the driver and patient inside the ambulance lost their lives in the crash, and three others were seriously injured. Tragically, the ambulance driver was pregnant at the time of the collision.

While the cause of the fatal crash is still under investigation, it’s clear that three vehicles were involved: a sedan, a tractor trailer, and an ambulance. Morganza Highway was closed near Deaton Lane and standard toxicology samples were collected from each of the drivers, which will be submitted for analysis.

Our hearts go out to the families of those who lost their lives in this incident, as well as those who are recovering from their injuries.
